Recent Think & Drink Sessions

Remember our Think & Drink sessions are recorded! If you've missed our scheduled times together, you can log Advanced Training Hours by watching these recordings.

In February, Debbie Seabrook, herbalist and Master Naturalist, hosted a conversation on "Yaupon Teas and Other Free Beverages." Debbie guided us through the fascinating and ancient history of Yaupon tea, including the impact of colonization and the taxonomic implications. Following a discussion on ethical foraging, Debbie taught us how to process Yaupon for tea.

We had two Think & Drink sessions in March. On March 18th, Cole Ruch from SCDNR joined us to review the magic of oysters, the critical space they occupy in our ecology, a history of oysters here in the Lowcountry, and how the SCORE program is working to rebuild our living shorelines. Cole's passion really comes through in this excellent presentation.

Also in March, Sharleen Johnson joined us for ... wasps

There are over 30 Think & Drink sessions at your fingertips here on the Coastal Master Naturalist Association site. You can find them embedded at the T&D Recordings page or you can subscribe to our channel on YouTube.
