WHO: Master Naturalists / Scientists / Nature Nerds
WHAT IS A BIOBLITZ?
It’s a celebration of biodiversity where scientists and naturalists work together to see how many species of plants and animals they can find in one area. It will be an exciting challenge to see how many species we find!
COST: $2 Admission (per person) OR CCPRC Gold Pass to get into Caw Caw Interpretive Center. Program is FREE
SCHEDULE (Subject to change):
8 AM to Noon: iNaturalist Forays. Over the course of the morning, join six master naturalists on specific searches to learn about the local species while collecting data!
Noon: BYOLunch – CMNA will have some snacks and drinks to share.
1 PM: Meet and Greet / Book Signing with Peter Alden. Peter Alden is a naturalist, lecturer, ecotourism guide, and author of over 15 books on North American Flora and Fauna. The National Audubon Society Southeast Regional Guide Series is one of the books you may have in your own library!
2 to 4PM: Open Classroom / Open Lab – Who still needs an ID. How many species did we find?
