Information
Join the CMNA for a zoom presentation with world-renowned naturalist, Peter Alden.
Peter is is a naturalist, lecturer, ecotourism guide, and author of fifteen books on North American and African wildlife, including the National Audubon Society’s Regional Field Guide Series. Peter’s interests have widened from his original field of ornithology to include all visible biodiversity, conservation issues, historical changes in the landscape, climate change, and the invasive alien plant and animal crisis affecting us today.
Peter will offer a little history on bioblitzes. He will discuss some of the rules and realities, talk about major groupings of organisms, and focus on creating naturalists via nature clubs in schools. These events could evolve into a sport between school teams, and who knows, there could be a Nature Olympics in the future! Spend the hour with us and get inspired to join our bioblitz at Caw Caw Interpretive Center on February 5, or host one on your own!
